wendy ward
A literacy advocate, and emerging indie author, Wendy takes a humorous, narrative approach to creative nonfiction. A genre traditionally dry.
Aimed to educate and entertain middle school-aged readers, her first book of a series, historical, hysterical tangents – Book 1 features a collection of short stories based on unimaginable events that actually happened. They are full of facts, no doubt. Overrunning with fun, indeed. Knee deep in puns? Of course!
Her broad collegiate studies in liberal arts include ethics, psychology, literature, public relations, communications, mass media, history, theatre, plus creative and technical writing. – Focused on helping young scholars pursue their dreams, Wendy leverages her talent to inspire at the community level. By working in public education, she positions herself to mentor a diverse, underrepresented group of students in college and career readiness, along with a smorgasbord of core subjects students need to graduate high school.
Now, affirming her commitment to creating opportunities for herself and others, she extends her passion for literature, research, cultural writing, and storytelling through independent self-publishing.
Growing up in Michigan, the Great Lakes State, Wendy attended summer camp each year where she developed a love for the outdoors, swimming, racquetball, photography, reading, and journaling. Oh yeah, and apples. Michigan has a lot of apples. – As an only child with no siblings, she spent her time making connections with her peers, and quickly discovered mentoring offers her purpose. – it’s her passion.
